About Tralee Golf Course
Tralee golf club, situated on the south west coast of Ireland, was founded in 1896. The golf course was redesigned by none other than the great Arnold Palmer in 1984. Palmer sums up the beauty of Tralee golf course when he said “I designed the first nine but surely God designed the back nine”.

The opening hole, called Mucklough, offers a fairly gentle start to your round. This 404-yard par 4, rated stoke index 14, offers a realistic chance of starting your round with a par. Make the most of this because you face a massive par 5 second hole. At stroke index 2 and measuring 596 yards the Cuilin is a test for golfers of all levels – a 6 here will feel like a par. You finish the front nine with a 504-yard par 5, playing back to the clubhouse this is the easiest hole on the course.

The Bracken, coming early in the back nine (12th hole), is the most difficult hole on Tralee and even with a good drive you will be looking at a long iron or fairway wood for your second. The par 5 eighteenth sits between the tenth and first holes, with a combination of fairway and greenside bunkers this is no easy finishing hole, however avoid the bunkers and there’s a real chance of ending your round with a par.

Why not complete your day at Tralee with a glass of famous Irish Guinness in the upstairs bar which has superb views of the golf course through its unique walls of glass. See latest reviews for Tralee golf club.

"Tralee still rates for me as the highlight of my golfing experiences. This is a truly wonderful course - the scenery is so picturesque it is just a pleasure to walk round the course let alone play. There are so many good holes on this course - I particularly liked the par 3 third, along the sea shore - quite a challenging shot. If you're visiting Ireland, put this at the top of your list"
