The Santa Maria golf club is situated just outside Marbella on the Costa del Sol. The original nine holes, designed by Antonio Garcia Garrido, was extended to an eighteen hole course at the end of 1996.
You will start your round at Santa Maria with one of the easiest holes on the course. Measuring 338m this opening par 4 might have plenty of water around it, but it should not pose too much of a problem. However, don’t be lulled into a false sense of security because, while the third hole may look straight forward, this stoke index 1 par 4 is a real test. The “Lagoon” which is a par 4 measuring 324m completes the front nine at Santa Maria.
The tenth hole is at the far end of this complex and after completing this par 3 you will turn for home. The final tee shot at Santa Maria is very demanding and is the main reason that this 352m par 4 receives stoke index 6.
