| "Representatives of simply4golf had the pleasure of playing Golf Las Americas in December 2005. The weather was dry, warm and with little wind provided ideal golf conditions. On Arrival The course is set within easy reach of Las Americas and a short taxi ride from Los Cristianos. This is a very popular golf course and we would recommend booking your tee times before travelling to avoid disappointment. We played one round in the morning and the other in the afternoon. If our experience was anything to go by, morning is the better time to play. The locker rooms are spacious with towels and lockers provided free of charge. We hired golf clubs so that we could get an appreciation for their quality. The sets we were provided with included putter, 5 - SW, rescue wood, 3 wood and driver - all were in excellent condition. We also hired a pull trolley, which at 5 euros was a real bargain. Buggies are for hire and come with a GPS system that gives you hole by hole layout, yardages and electronic score card. On the First Tee The practice area is adjacent to the first tee where 20 practice balls can be purchased for 1 euro. There are plenty of marshals around to ensure golfers are on time to the first tee, they also pair up golfers to maximise tee times. Golfers are started at the first and tenth tees. The first hole is a gentle par 5, but beware if you start at the tenth because this is a really tough par 4. Complimentary water and a pitch mark repairer are provided which are both excellent ideas. The first helping to ensure golfers don't become dehydrated and the latter encouraging golfers to repair their pitch marks, unfortunately, we still found our self repairing more pitch marks than we made. The Course The course is very well laid out and has plenty of water and vegetation which attracts an abundance of wild life. We felt the course was relatively easy to walk which was confirmed by the number of golfers who were either carrying clubs or using pull trolleys. With several tee positions and no restrictions on which you could use the course proved to be challenging but fair for golfers of all grades. The greens were well maintained and very fast, however, they did spike up and as such were better when played early in the day. The Nineteenth Hole Meals, snacks and refreshments are available before and after your round in the very pleasant bar area. You can choose to sit indoors or enjoy the views from the raised outdoor seating area. Conclusion Our representatives had a very enjoyable trip to Golf Las Americas. They were particularly complimentary about the staff both on and off the course. " |
