Fuerteventura golf club, located in Caleta De Fuste, was designed by Juan Catarimeau and opened in 2002. The course is reasonably flat and has quite large greens. Anyone who has ever stayed in Fuerteventura will appreciate that the main test when playing the Fuerteventura golf course is the wind.
The opening hole is a stroke index 13 par 4 measuring 336m. The hole usually has wind assisting and offers a gentle start to your round – just be aware there is a dry riverbed running across the fairway, so safety first, and 3 wood or even an iron may be the sensible play. The 8th is a tough hole with out of bounds down the left and a lake to the right of the green. At stoke index 3 most players will be pleased to leave this green with a bogey. Like the first hole to 18th is often wind assisted and again an iron off the tee may be smart play.
