About Flamingo Golf Course
The Flamingo golf club in Monistir was opened in 1992. The course was designed by Ronald Fream and includes 3 water holes and 7 cliff holes.

There is a choice of five tees on every hole so you will be able to choose the tees that best suit your playing level.

Hole 1 is a 365m Par 4 stroke index 7

The first hole at the Flamingo complex is a dog leg right par 4 that requires good drive to reach the corner and open the green up for your approach.

The first of the two bunkers that guard the green is well short of the green so be careful not to let this influence your choice of club for your second.

Hole 2 is a 160m Par 3 stroke index 13

The generous green at this par 3 gives you a good opportunity of hitting the green in regulation, but you may be left with a demanding 2 putt.

Hole 3 is a 420m Par 4 stroke index 5

This is a demanding par 4 where even the best of drives will still leave a long iron or fairway wood for your second.

Hole 4 is a 470m Par 5 stroke index 15

The first par 5 at the Flamingo golf course, when played as a conventional par 5, gives a realistic chance of a birdie. Although with water on the right and out of bounds on the left your drive will need to be accurate to achieve this.

Hole 5 is a 140m Par 3 stroke index 9

The key to this short par three is keep to the right hand side of the green where your tee shot will feed back into the middle of the green.

Hole 6 is a 460m Par 5 stroke index 1

At stroke index 1 the 6th is the most difficult hole on the course. Water on the right and out of bounds on the left makes for a demanding tee shot. If you manage to successfully negotiate this and hit a good drive, you will be faced with water guarding the green on both sides. There is only a thin stretch of fairway between the two lakes so you will have little chance of chasing a shot on to the green.

Play this as a conventional 3 shot approach and a par will feel like a birdie.

Hole 7 is a 375m Par 4 stroke index 17

Get a good drive away at this short par 4 you will have a real chance of a birdie – take a 3 wood off the tee for position.

Hole 8 is a 315m Par 4 stroke index 3

This tough par 4 requires a good tee shot to give you a chance to reach the green in regulation. Even then you will need a good nerve to take on the green over the cliff, alternatively you could play the 8th as a 3 shot approach and accept a bogey.

Hole 9 is a 310m Par 4 stroke index 11

The tee shot is key to the par 4 9th . You will need to cut the corner of the dog leg and avoid the out of bounds on the left with your drive to have any chance of completing the front nine with a par.

Hole 10 is a 370m Par 4 stroke index 2

The back nine starts with a tough par 4. The stoke index 2 10th requires an accurate drive and then, with water on the right and bunkers on the left, your approach will have to be perfect to give you a realistic chance of a par.

Hole 11 is a 520m Par 5 stroke index 14

This long par 5, if played as a regulation 3 shot hole, gives a good opportunity of a par and an outside chance of a birdie.

Hole 12 is a 200m Par 3 stroke index 8

This well guarded par 3 will require an accurate tee shot to find the green.

Hole 13 is a 405m Par 4 stroke index 18

This is the easiest hole at the Flamingo golf club. Make sure you stay left with your drive and choose enough club to carry the bunker at the front of the green and you should be walking to the 14th with a par on the card.

Hole 14 is a 330m Par 4 stroke index 10

Don’t be fooled by this short par 4 it requires a accurate drive and approach to reach the green in regulation. Fail with your drive or approach and could be facing a double bogey 6.

Hole 15 is a 150m Par 3 stroke index 12

With a cliff to the left of the green and bunkers guarding the right hand side this is a demanding par 3.

Hole 16 is a 320m Par 4 stroke index 16

This is the shortest par 4 on the golf course but it is well guarded by fairway and greenside bunkers. You may want to take an iron or fairway wood from the tee for safety.

Hole 17 is a 340m Par 4 stroke index 6

The seventeenth is a sharp dogleg right. Big hitters may be able to cut the corner but most golfers will play safe, but make sure you clear the fairway bunker.

Hole 18 is a 490m Par 5 stroke index 4

The finish to your round at the Flamingo golf course is no push over. With water on the right and trees and water on the left you will need a long straight drive to give you a chance of reaching the green in two. You may want to protect your score and play this hole as a par 5.
