Alto golf club, located near Alvor, was the last course designed by Sir Henry Cotton and opened in 1991. This parkland style course offers splendid views of Portimao and the Atlantic.
Henry Cotton had a knack for designing courses that tested the low handicapper while still allowing players with less ability an enjoyable experience - the Alto is testament to his design philosophy.
Your round starts with a fairly gentle par 3 measuring just 162m and little in the way of trouble. In contrast you will need to plan your way around the rest of the course, where Henry Cotton has used the natural landscape, trees and tiered greens to test golfers of all levels.
